Thanks for the great review, Justin. I really should heed your criticism for forthcoming projects and get some serious editing. Maybe I ought to seek your services for good measure ;)

I don’t mean to nitpick, but if you’ve been reading my reviews for a while here at Poopsheet Foundation, then you know that I can be a stickler for proper grammar and punctuation. There are many elements of The Wang that I did enjoy, but some of…

This ‘zine style book quickly grabs your attention with an attractive wrap around cover design and overall sense of packaging that I just loved. Having consumed as much pop culture as I have in the form of comics, books, magazines, movies, music,…

My heart sank a little when I realized this was another daily comic diary, since I had such a lukewarm reaction to the previous one I’d read, but I found Sundogs much more enjoyable. Adam Pasion offers a very strong variety of strips, and his affab…

I’m always a little hesitant to throw the term “best” around because it dredges up connotations of all-knowing omniscience, of some sort of superhuman entity having consumed everything possibly available, using a universally accepted set of objecti…

The second volume of NMSD continues the “brushes with celebrity” theme, and essentially there is a larger gulf between the pieces that work and don’t work for me. Richard Krauss has a polished and consistent style and isn’t afraid to break the pane…

While there’s no price given for this quick-reading 16-pager, and the page count is relatively small, the price will definitely be worth the lingering enjoyment it provides, and I’d encourage you to check out the creators at: www.pheasantglencomics

About Me:
Justin Giampaoli refuses to choose, sometimes writing comics and sometimes reviewing them. He is the writer of the crime caper The Mercy Killing, the autobiographical Silicon Valley Blues, and the family drama Blood Orange. He’s written reviews for Hijinx Comics, Savant Magazine, and The East County Californian Newspaper. He’s one of those weird people who loves public speaking and guest lectures on Comic Book History & Script Writing. In addition to reviewing small press titles and mini-comics at Poopsheet Foundation, he blogs frequently at 13 Minutes and is currently the Chief of Security at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego.
