For those keeping track, Otso is Mini Kus! #10 in the Latvian company’s series. I love the way this begins with a downright Kubrickian contention with hypersleep during space travel and ventures from the associated time distortion sensation to a more nightmarish mythology full of astrological totems. There are about 6 pages of more “traditional” comic art before that transition to wordless free-floating imagery occurs, so if you’re up for an abstract experience, you’ll definitely want to check out Ahokoivu’s latest. Bravo to Kus! for continuing to present a plethora of brave talent to the rest of the world. Grade A.
