OM by Piotr Nowacki

www.strip-tiz.blogspot.com

Nowacki created this book in his native Poland for FCBD 2012; that said, it’s in Polish so I missed some of the meaning. Fortunately, 99% of the story doesn’t contain any dialogue and Nowacki is a terrific panel to panel storyteller, which was the case in his book MOE, the first of his work that I sampled and reviewed. In OM, an anthropomorphic lizard guy goes through his day eating everything in his path, which I think you can read into and find some type of Romero-esque commentary about blind consumerism, but I think it’s meant just to be funny and cute. The lead character becomes embroiled in an abduction and on his adventure searching for his companion, encounters everything from forest ninjas to undersea pirates. Grade B.
