BRAD TRIP by Various

This indie anthology was created for Free Comic Book Day 2012 by Sparkplug Comic Books, in conjunction with Revival House Press, Floating World Comics, and Teenage Dinosaur. It features such creators as Aidan Koch, Virginia Paine, and Dunja Jankovic, a nice small representation of the interpretive art comix scene of Portland, Oregon. In addition to Koch’s always ethereal visuals, I enjoyed a stand-out piece about the notion of creating your own personal worldview simply by identifying your three biggest desires and then actively seeking them out. The imagery in the whole book is strong, and the raw ideas challenge our assumptions about the world around us. Grade A.
